Unrequited Love
Lyrical coffee
On Saturday I popped into town for a flat white coffee at Bold Street Coffee (the best in Liverpool). I have a pile of songs with unfinished lyrics, so I took my lyrics book with me and managed to finish off two songs while I was there. Unfortunately, I have a cold at the moment so I can’t record the songs yet.
Bummer.
As soon as this cold clears, I’m planning to lay down demo’s for these two songs. I may also demo an older tune that’s been lying around for a while — I found an early “pre-demo” amongst some old audio files on my laptop. It’s a decent tune, so I want to give it some more attention.
In the meantime, I’m still working on ideas for my October song. Maybe I’ll get that one released on time…

My favourite spam comments
I get a lot of spam in the comments of my blog posts. Fortunately, the Akismet service does an awesome job of detecting them and keeping them off my site.
I do trawl through them from time to time, just in case there’s one that isn’t spam (this hasn’t yet happened). Today I found my favourite spam comment:
Nice blog post. Congratulations, you’ve won an iPad!
There was of course a link to a dodgy website full of flashy ad’s and junk. The comment made me smile, though. It was much better than the rest of the spam…
